It is mentioned in Abu Dawood, that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ­ has ordered to apply perfumed “Surma” at night before sleeping.

BENEFITS: The scholars have written that over here perfumed surma means surma mixed with musk.It is mentioned in Ibn e Maja that Asmad surma is the best surma because it brings light to the sight and it makes the eye lashes thick.It is mentioned in Tirmizi that Ispahani surma is called Asmad surma and it is also mentioned in some hadith that when surma is applied it should be applied in odd number i.e. one silai or three silai.
