It is narrated form Hazrat Anas Bib Maalik (رضی اللہ عنہ) that the Holy Prophet (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) said, “the month of Rajab has honor and superiority on other months same like The Holy Quran has on all other books and Shaban has superiority on all other months same like I have on all Prophets and The Ramadan has superiority on all other months like Allah has superiority on all the universe.
Two Cycles of Nafal (Virtual prayer): Whosoever performs two cycles of nafal after Tahajud at the first night of Shaban in such a way that he recites Surah Fatiha one time and Surah Ikhlas 100 times in every cycle and in the condition of bowing and prostration recites
سُبُّوْحٌ قُدُّوْسٌ رَبُّنَا وَ رَبُّ الْمَلٰٓــــئِکَۃِ وَالرُّوْحِ سُبْحَانَ خَالِقِ النُّوْرِ سُبْحَانَ مَنْ ھُوَ قَائِمٌ عَلیٰ کُلِّ نَفْسٍ بِمَا کَسَبَتْ ۔
The Almighty Allah will keep him safe from damnation of hell and will grant him paradise, Insha’Allah.
Twelve Cycles of Nafal: Whosoever performs 12 cycles in the form of a pair of two cycles after Eisha prayer at the first night of Shaban in such a way that in every cycle recites Darood Sharif after Surah Fatiha 15 times, Allah will forgive his sins.
First Friday: Whosoever performs two cycles after Maghrib prayer and before Eisha prayer on the first Friday of Shaban in such a way that after Surah Fatiha he recites Ayat-ul-Kursi 10 times, Surah Ikhlas 10 times and Surah Wanaas 1 time, Allah will grant the safety and progress of his belief (Eiman).
Four Cycles of Nafal: On the night of first Friday of Shaban after Eisha Prayer whosoever performs four cycles in such a way that in every cycle he recites Surah Ikhlas 11 times after surah Fatiha and presents the virtues of these nawafil to the Lady of Paradise Hazrat Fatima (رضی اللہ عنھا), he would be granted place in paradise by the grace of Allah.
14th of Shabab-ul-Moazzam: Whosoever performs two cycles of nafal prayer after maghrib prayer on 14th of Shaban in such a way that after Surah Fatiha he recites last three verses of Surah Hashar one time and Surah Ikhlas 3 times in every cycle, by the grace of Allah his sins will be forgiven.
Salat-ul-Kher: There is much importance of performing nawafil and commendation at the night of bar’at (Shab-e-Barat). Performing Nawafil in this night, reciting commendations and asking for the forgiveness of sins humbly and in tearful way leads a person towards eternal success. Allah blesses His special bounties on this man. Many virtues and blessings are granted in this auspicious and blissful night by performing Salat-ul-Kher. This prayer is narrated by the saints and this is performed on 15th night of Shaban after Eisha Prayer. There are 100 cycles in it and it is performed in the pair of two cycles every time in such a way that in every cycle Surah Ikhlas is recited 10 times after Surah Fatiha. This Nafal Prayer used to be performed by saints in congregation. Hazrat Hassan Basri (رضی اللہ عنہ) said about this prayer that I was told by the 30 Sahaba (companions) of the Holy Prophet (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) that whosoever performs this prayer in this night, Allah looks towards him 70 times and in every glance his 70 needs are fulfilled, in which the least one is the forgiveness from sins. Six Cycles of Nafal: On the 15th night of this month six cycles should be performed after Maghrib prayer in the pair of two cycles. Before performing first two nafal imagine to have blessing in life and age, before performing the second pair have imagination of being saved from the troubles and tragedies and before performing the third pair have imagination of not to be dependant of mankind. After performing every pair recite Surah Yasin 1 time or Surah Ikhlas 21 times.
Nawafil and Fast: It is narrated from Hazrat Ali (رضی اللہ عنہ) that the Holy Prophet (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) said when the 15th night of Shaban arrives, you should have durance on this night i.e. perform virtual prayers and keep fast in the day because in this night Allah Almighty comes to the sky of this world (first sky) after sunset and announces, is there anybody who wants forgiveness I will forgive him, is there anyone who wants livelihood I will grant him livelihood, if anybody is indulged in trouble I will give him relief. Allah keeps on announcing till the sun rises. (Ibn-e-Majah)
