Destroying any ancient worship place is not lawful
Ibn e Zaib Bhikari
Molana Abdullah asked, “What is this Kashteer?” he was told that it is a large pond where the Hindus used to come from Delhi and its surroundings for taking bath. Molana asked, “Since how long this practice is continued?” People told that this practice is in progress since the ancient times. Molana gave Fatwa that, “Destroying anyone’s ancient worship place of any religion according to Islam is not lawful.” When Sikandar Lodhi listened the decision against his will he kept knife on his hand and said, “Your Fatwa is for the favor of Hindus; I will kill you then will destroy the Kashteer.” Molana Abdullah replied with great bravery and courage that nobody dies without the order of Allah, whenever I go to a wicked person I go with a preparation of being dying. You asked me the Sharia’s matter; I told you that if you don’t care of Sharia then why you asked me. By listening this strict reply Sikandar got silent. After a while his anger calmed down and his sitting was over then he asked the Molana to meet him frequently. (Waqiaat Mushtaq, P # 16)
