Hundreds of thousands of animals are slaughtered daily in our country and the meat thus obtained is eaten with relish. People savour roasted as well as barbecued meat. Kabab is a famous delicacy of meat. Many spices are used in roasting and barbecuing meat. Quality spices enhance its flavour. If not daily, at least, once in a week or month meat is cooked in our homes. Meat is an important element of our diet. Meat contains nitrogen, fats, salts and water. Filaments of our body are, primarily, made up of nitrogenous compounds. Calories which get burned while walking and doing other physical activities are compensated only by nitrogenous diet. Nitrogenous diet is important for the growth of body. Dieticians say there is much more protein in meat than vegetables. Muslims are allowed to eat meat of only Halal animals. Modern research has proved that the animals, Muslims have been forbidden from eating are injurious for health.

People who eat meat daily are found to be more irritable and selfish. They become miserable and are driven by desires. A man can eat any type of meat but considering pros and cons of the type of meat eaten is important. Dieticians recommend 125 grams of daily meat intake for a person not doing any physical labour. Eating more than this daily limit is harmful.

Once meat has been barbecued, it is not recommended to keep it air-tight. Keeping meat air-tight will result in toxicity and foul taste. Following are the characteristics of different types of meat.

Goat: Meat obtained from goat is easily digestible and produces blood. It is beneficial for the choleric tempered people. People with slender physique may develop sturdy if given meat of a six months old goat. It is commonly heard that if any organ of human body becomes dysfunctional, eating the same organ of the goat cures the ailment. Like a patient suffering with cardiac ailments be given heart of goat and patient suffering with pulmonary problems, lungs.

Francolin, Quail: Meat of these birds cures paralysis, pulmonary disorders, cardiac disorders, tuberculosis, dropsy and other body aches. It strengthens gastric tissues and nervous activity. It reduces phlegm, bile and chances of madness.

Camel: Meat of camel is not easily digestible. It increases male sexual potency and cures the irritation during urination. It effectively cures ascites. Meat of the hump of camel is very useful and effective for the treatment of many disorders.

Buffalo: This meat takes times in digestion. It produces fluids which can cause madness. The people who eat this meat daily are prone to fall victim to haemorrhoid, blennorrhagia and many other gastric ailments. By adding considerable amount of ginger and cooking this meat with vegetable does not cause any bad effect to body.

Sheep: Meat of this animal strengthens and fattens body. It produces pure blood. This meat takes time in digestion. This meat is not recommended for the people suffering with gastric ailments. It aggravates haemorrhoids.

Rabbit: Meat of rabbit produces impure blood in body. It effectively cures paralysis, palsy, nervine and whooping cough.

Fat-tailed sheep: Meat obtained from this animal fattens body. It strengthens body organs and increase sexual potency. This meat takes time in digestion.

Pigeon: It produces pure blood. It strengthens body, kidneys and bladder. It enables one to gain sexual power. It is beneficial for dropsy. Adding some vinegar while cooking enhances the effectiveness of this meat. Children, who do not start speaking in early childhood, start speaking when are given eggs of pigeons to eat.
