(An excerpt from the famous research journal, ‘ Mavra –Beyond’ written by famous atomic scientists Engr. Sultan Bashir Mehmood (Medal of distinction) ex director Atomic Energy Commission Pakistan. Science is using spirituality and we still doubt it. The book has been written from the years of hard work and research and it may waive off the objections and non seriousness about spiritualism.
The book was written in March 1972 and has been published so many times. It not only includes the dreaming observations but also has a great scientific analysis and discusses various aspects of human survival and abilities. As the author mentions about the second edition in the following words: This book contains the best analysis of the Time Regress ever completed. Incidentally, it contains the first scientific agreement for human immortality. This I may say, was entirely unexpected.’ (Page 7)
After these experiments, he writes about the spirit and mentions that a man can not only witness the future but also can modify if he wills to. Even the death can’t affect it. The brain is used while he lives while Nafs (Self) survives even after the death. ‘Man is Soul’ with powers of intervention with which he may alter the course of observed events….a mind which not only reads the brain but employs it as a tool…The inference is that this observer can survive the destruction of that brain which he observes’(page 22)
Colonel Devon developed his interest about spirituality in 1899 when he was serving in Sudan. He was so isolated that even the daily newspapers would reach him after a couple of weeks delay. He had no other source of communicating with the world. There he felt that sometimes whatever he had seen in his dreams; he would find the same happening reported in the newspaper after two weeks. Once he dreamt that his clock stopped at 3:28 a.m when he woke up .so incidents are always present in time. Just like a movie which is already present in the electronic form and then it exhibits itself at the appropriate time. So whatever happens, it is no more than a mirage. Col. Devon also proved that waking is more effective than dreaming for peeping into future. If a person gets rid of mental distortion and gets away from worries and forgets his past, then he would witness the future easily. So it is essential to empty your mind from distortion and deviation. This is what our Sufis and saints of other religions try to achieve through efforts and contemplation specially the Zikar of لا الہ الا اللہ also called as “Nafi Athbaat” has the purpose to devoid any slavery from the ego. When a person achieves this enchantment then he gets the power of Kashf. (Spiritual Unveiling) In spiritual unveiling the absent becomes the present and can peep into future. A person empties his mind completely through the recitation of لا الہ الا اللہ meaning There is no God except Allah to be worshipped. It even removes the feeling of time and space. But for our Sufis this is not an achievement but they rather think it is an obstacle for spiritual enchantment. The main objective is to attain the closeness to Allah Almighty. Col. Devon writes as follow: I spent for the greater part of the time in reflecting of the past and starting fresh with a mind comparatively blank. These experiments showed ‘one’ that provided ‘one’ was able to focus one’s attention to the task, one could observe the ‘effect’ first as readily when awake as when sleeping. One had merely to get rid of all thinking of the past and the future would become apparent of disconnected flashes!’(Pages 100-102). ‘Thus future events are at rate real enough to experience as the pre-presentation’ (Page 106)
