The Lion That Ate the Groom on The Wedding Day.

Ubqari Magazine - August 2014

Shamaaila Shakeel, Rawalpindi

A person who had disturbed the man-eater during the day, was sleeping at night by burning fire around the four corners of his bed. The man-eater came there while looking for him. Flames were roaring around the bed in a circle. Despite that the lion smelt the sleeping person from a short distance.

A common perception about the lion was that he eats humans very rarely. That he lurches towards human meat only in unusual circumstances. But with fresh fresh observations and experiences it has been proven that he prefers human meat over animal meat even under ordinary circumstances. A few man-eaters are so used to human meat that in one night they eat 3 human beings. A large number of lions are man-eaters by birth. They do not like the meat of anything else except humans. As opposed to a normal lion, a man-eater prefers outdoors. He only likes as much bushes and trees that may serve as natural barriers. Other lions are normally leisure loving and sluggish. They like to bear least number of hardships in killing the hunt. Instead of big animals, they prefer to kill small animals like deer and pigs. But man-eater is very hardworking and steady. He travels 20 miles in pursuit of favorite food. After killing the hunt he moves as much far away from the place as possible. A few zoologists believe that a man-eater travels hundreds of miles in a night. The third strange and dangerous habit is that once it gets addicted to human flesh, then it does not touch anything else. Even if it has to stay hungry in hunt of human for many days. Fourth, nature has blessed it with unusual sense of smell. Due to this it can smell the human flesh from a far off distance. Once upon a time a person of Kenya, who had disturbed the man-eater during the day, was sleeping at night by burning fire around the four corners of his bed. The man-eater came there while looking for him. Flames were roaring around the bed in a circle. Despite that the lion smelt the sleeping person from a short distance. Then the lion snatched at him at once and picked him up in the mouth and went away. A similar story has been written by the famous hunter Taylor. On a hilly path two man-eaters were sitting while looking for prey. By chance a cyclist passed from that place. The lions stared at him but said nothing. After a short while another cyclist came there. The lions looked at him. After starring for a while, both the man-eaters snatched him quickly and tore him apart.

A man-eater does not forgive the person whom he follows. In this regard an eye-witnessed account of a person is worth discussing.

Once upon a time a hunting party was following a man-eater in Tanzaaniya who had eaten 43 people. In this party a local labr named Handy Niggu was also with them. This person had helped a lot in finding the lion. The lion could not be found for many days and the party sent the labor away for a few days on vacation. Handy Nigue got married after seeking refuge from them. On the wedding night the lion quietly came in the house. He quietly dragged Nigue away from his bed and ran away. The bride diid not know about this at all. After some time when she woke up she became quite anxious by not fiddling her husband there. She saw here and there, but could not get a clue. By chance her hand fell on the pillow and she found that it was drenched with blood. She understood at once that the lion had taken away her husband. She started crying and screaming. Listening to the noise the nearby people gathered. The bride wanted to go after the lion, but they stopped. The next day the same man-eater came back again. He kept on waiting for someone outside the village for a long time. And then he went to the jungle himself.
