THE NAILS WERE FOUND GROWN WHEN GRAVE WAS RE-OPENED

Ubqari Magazine - Feburary 2013

When the grave digger moved the kafan aside, the face was quite fresh as if the dead has recently buried. Hence, a big chaddar was spread over the kafan. His son Aqeel Ghauri stated that face & body of his father were fresh, even the cloth-string tied at the center was unknotted and present.

Two or three days ago my younger daughter rang me and as usual asked if I and other family members are all right. Then she asked, if I am not busy, she wants to share a story of an astonishing incident. She then narrated it to me. As the incident was very strange, therefore I asked her the source. She said, wife of my brother-in-law (i.e. wife of her Jaith). I know her very well & she also keeps visiting me. I have complete trust on the words of my daughter but as narrator of this incident was two women and it has come into experiences that women often do not take care and make additions & omissions from themselves while stating / describing the things so as to sound more dramatic. I wished to have complete & authentic detail of this incident. I asked her to tell her husband (i.e. my young son-in-law Ahsan Afzal) to tell me detail of this incident after confirming from the eye witnesses. He rang me on 29th Sept 2012 at the time of Maghrib Salah. He told detail of incident, with details taken from above said women too. For complete and better understanding of this astonishing incident, first I want to go back into the history of this unusual sad incident which occurred in 2001, as under on which I had expressed grief :-
SUDDEN DEATH OF SON & FATHER:
This incident starts from a coincidental death of a son & his father. The father’s name was Muhammad Ghauri. The family of Mehmood Ghauri Sahib was residing in a flat of PIB colony. Mehmood Gahuri Sahib was an employee in Security Printing Press at Islamabad who attained retirement before the date of maturity, thus his age may be assessed between 55 to 60 years. The son whose name was Amir Memood Ghauri was 28-29 years old. He got married just 2-3 years back and had closely cropped beard. Both son & father were inclined towards religion. The father’s temperament was more attentive to spiritualism and the effect of which was also prominent in thoughts & acts of his son. Once the son, Amir Ghauri went on a trip at Kalri Jheel (Lake) together with his in-laws. He was swimming on a tube, which ruptured suddenly. Consequently, he drowned into deep water and died.

SKY FELL ON THE RELATIVES:
All grieved relatives brought THE dead body of Amir Ghauri at home in an ambulance. His father was informed that his son was not alive & his dead body has reached at home. The father descended downstairs tolerating the news of surprise & sorrow. He uncovered his son’s face in the ambulance. When he got sure of his son’s death, he could not bear this grief; the vein of his brain burst. Blood started flowing out of his nose and he died then & there and met with his son. Thus, two funerals were lifted simultaneously from the same home. Qayamat must be felt by their family; and it is not difficult to evaluate its gravity. Both son & father were buried in the graveyard of Eisa Nagry, behind Hassan Square.

As far as I remember this full of anguish incident took place about 11 years ago in 2001 and my daughter and her husband told me about it. It hurt me a lot. The purpose of first narrating this incident is to draw attention towards lesson hidden in this incident.
While laying the road of Layari Express, the concerned Department had to take some part of graveyard into road unavoidably, due to which about 3000 graves were required to be shifted. The department contacted with living members of the deceased and whoever came into contact were advised to come in the graveyard on the decided date along with necessary cloth to collect / gather bones + other body remnants for shifting at another pre-determined place near Eisa Nagry. Similarly, family of Mehmood Ghauri was also informed accordingly. Some peoples contacted with Ulama (learnt persons of Islam) to know either this act is right or wrong. Some Ulma said as 11 years have passed therefore it is not necessary to shift graves but the road can be constructed over there.
WHEN THE GRAVES WERE REOPENED:
When graves of deceased father Muhammad Ghauri and his son Amir Mehmood Ghauri were being opened, the other two sons Nauman Ghauri and Aqeel Ghauri also reached there. The graves of father and son were shortly distant apart. Firstly “Gorgan” (graves digger) opened grave of father and asked to bring a big size chaddar (part of cloth) as the already brought one was not sufficient. He did not tell anything more but insisted only to bring big one. Ultimately, they did so. The grave was opened carefully. The kafan was found in its original form; just little dirty though. The signs of bulging out of the dead body were also prominent. When the grave digger moved it aside, the body was found quite fresh. It was looking as if the dead has recently been buried. Hence, a big chaddar was spread over dead body of the father. His son Aqeel Ghauri stated that face & body of his father were fresh, even the cloth-string tied at the center was unknotted and present. Afterward grave of son, Amir Ghauri was opened, surprisingly his body was also found safe, intact & un-spoiled. The chaadar was spread over his dead body, collected it and again buried near to the grave of his father. Thus, the little distance present between the two finished completely now.
It is a belief of all Muslims and also a truth stated in the Quran-e-Kareem that the martyred shall be given an exceptional life in Aalim-e-Burzugh. Often similar incidents like when grave was re-opened, the dead body was found fresh. The narrator of this incident is not surprised upon why the soil preserved the body, but the thing astonishing is that when father’s body was being shifted, suddenly his hand displaced and nails found grown one & half inch long, while at the time of death, nails were cut and very short. Similarly, son’s face was having closely cropped beard which was also found grown many inches long.
Come on readers, what the Quran has told us about martyred. Translation: “And who are murdered in the way of Allah Almighty, do not call them dead, actually they are alive, but you cannot realize about their life (Al-Baq’Rah)”.
In this verse, those who are murdered in the way of Allah Almighty are declared martyred, while death of both father & son was a coincidental death.
I shall explain afterward, first read another verse of Quran-e-Kareem.
Translation: “And do not ever assume that those who are slain in Allah's cause are dead; in fact they are alive with their Lord, receiving sustenance. Happy over what Allah has bestowed upon them from His grace, and rejoicing for those who will succeed them, and have not yet joined them; for on them is no fear nor any grief.  (Al-Imran, 169,170).”
In above both verse, the peoples who were martyred are declared alive. The question arises that both father & son died coincidently, neither had they departed in the way of Allah Almighty nor they murdered then how they attained the status of Martyr? Here keep one thing in mind that there are different levels of Martyr. Muhammad (Sal’Allah-o- Alai’he Wasallum) on arriving back from a Ghazwa ordained (the sense of which is that) depart from minor jihad to major jihad, means fight against your Nafs-e-Amm’Aara (one’s baser self), as all those who if die while doing best to purify their Nafs (inner self) are also declared Martyr. Even the girl who dies before getting married (i.e. in bachelorhood) is also given the reward of Martyrdom. Secondly, every person has its own relation with Allah Almighty. Till where my knowledge is, sudden death is also considered as martyrdom. The grave digger told that out of 3000 graves, 07 graves were such which dead bodies were found intact / un-spoiled (the reality is best known to Allah Almighty). [Mahnama Balaagh; p49-53]
