Excessive ڑecitation of صurah Al Fatiha & Darood Sharif Took Me to Pilgrimage

Ubqari Magazine - July 2018

Ubaid Akram, Harnoli

Respected readers! Let me share a faith boosting incident with you. Gul khan lived in hilly area. In winter he moved to Punjab to earn his livelihood. He would earn enough to feed his family. In summer he decided to sell cold drinks. He would save enough money to meet daily expenditure for the days he could not go to work owing to bad weather or public holiday. He had spent fifteen years in city earning his livelihood. Gul khan had lost his father when he was a child. He would zealously take care of his pious and religious mother.

Holding a small bag full of money, he recalled a seven years old incident when he asked his mother if she wished to perform pilgrimage. Gul khan’s mother expressed her desire to see Mecca and Medina. Gul khan promised his mother that one day he would arrange for her mother’s pilgrimage. Her mother wished him all the best. Gul khan had designated a cloth purse for saving money. He would recite surah Al Fatiha and Darood Shareef countlessly and blow on that purse. He had heard that prayers get answered by the virtue of Darood Shareef. He had decided that he would apply for pilgrimage the day purse would get filled.

Winter had set in. One day a landowner took him for labour. He labored whole day and the end of day got refused to take the wage upon getting annoyed over a matter with the landlord. One day Gul khan was sitting side by a road. A car stopped by his side and the man inside asked him if he was Gul Khan. He was the very landlord whom Gul Khan had labored for seven years back. The man took him to his home. Having served him with tea, the landlord telephoned his manager. After some time, a truck laden with goats came up. The landlord asked Gul Khan to take care of his herd. Gul Khan was surprised to hear this. Landlord explained, “the day you refused to take your wage, I bought a goat of the money and set the goat to graze in fields. That goat gave birth to many other lambs and your herd kept on growing. Now after seven years I have found you and want to hand you over what belongs to you.” Gul Khan resisted but that landlord didn’t listen him. Gul Khan took the herd to the cattle market and sold the herd and put the money in his very purse. Same year Gul Khan and his mother performed pilgrimage.

Would that my sister-in-law had listened to the beggar

Respected Hazrat Hakeem Sahib, Asalam Alaikum! My nephew is three years old. He was quite a normal child till three months of his age. One day a lady-beggar came and asked for worn clothes. Since my sister-in-law was alone that day, she could not find her the clothes. The lady-beggar warned my sister-in-law not to refuse her by stating an incident that how one day she cursed her grand-mother upon not giving her the thing she asked her for and how did her grand-mother fall ill and had been bed-ridden since then. My sister-in-law was amused by the incident and told her to come next day. God knows who that lady-beggar was as since that day my nephew has fallen ill. He has been caught by fever and anemia. We have been to every doctor and have had all blood tests. Some diagnosed it thalassemia and some otherwise. Every month he is infused blood. We have performed many spiritual practices but all in vain. We regularly give alms, but his health is not improving. (J, Qatar)
