Peer Ali Hajwariعلیہ رحمت اللہ says that Allah Almighty says in the Holy Quran that only those who have knowledge, fear Allah and the holy Prophet وسلم علیہ اللہ صلی said seeking/ acquiring knowledge is an obligation on every muslim man and woman. Peer Ali Hajwariعلیہ رحمت اللہ says that beware knowledge is vast while life is too short. That’s why acquiring all kinds of knowledge and technology is not obligatory. Acquiring that much knowledge an obligation which corrects our deeds and Allah Almighty condemns those who acquire unbeneficial knowledge. Allah Almighty warns such people and said that they acquire such type of knowledge which is not a source of benefits but harm for them. During the time of Haroonur Rasheed a man approached his court and said that I know an act. Haroon gave him the permission of its display. He pierced a needle in the earth and them from some distance he threw another needle in such a way that it passed from the hole of the needle. He was the best archer Haroon punished him to flog some lashes with and ordered to give him some dirham as a gift.
The people of his court were astonished that why he would be flogged? Haroon said that he had strived hard on such an art which is neither helpful for this world nor is beneficial for hereafter Prophet وسلم علیہ اللہ صلی has beseeched that O Allah! Safe me from acquiring the knowledge which doesnot help me in this world and hereafter. The holy Prophet وسلم علیہ اللہ صلی said that the one who adores without knowledge is like the crusher of donkey. If he does not possess intellect and spirituality and only worships, then there are chances of his misleading. Peer Ali Hajwariعلیہ رحمت اللہ . I have seen two kind of men. One group prefers knowledge over deeds while the other group prefers deeds over knowledge both are wrong. He added further that the best deeds could only be done only with the correct knowledge.
