Famous leading Sufiya Hazrat Shaqeeq Balkhi narrates his witnessed happening, that one day, I was going somewhere with Imam Abu Hanifa (RA)  that a person coming towards us, upon seeing us changed his way and turned into another street. Shaqeeq (RA)  says that I saw Imam Abu Hanifa (RA) addressed this person that brother come on the way you were coming, why did you take another direction. The person stopped. When we approached him, we observed that he was standing embarrassed.

Imam Abu Hanifa (RA)  asked him,”Why did you change your way?” He said, sir! Your amount of 10,000 is due from me and payment was delayed, I was embarrassed to see you, could not face you, that is why I turned away. Imam Abu Hanifa (RA) said, Subhan Allah! Just for this little matter you changed your way and tried to hide from me-not only this but Imam Sahib told the borrower that “go, I have gifted all my due amount to you” Imam Abu Hanifa(RA)  did not stop here. Shaqeeq (RA)  quotes that on the contrary Imam Sahib was apologizing from his borrower that if you felt embarrassed or scared by facing me, please forgive me.
