Sitting of Kashf-ul-Mahjoob

Ubqari Magazine - May 2013

Every month, Hazrat Hakeem SahabMadzala reads the famous book adorned with oneness and prophecy, ‘Kashf-ul-Mahjoob’; chapter-wise. Large numbers of readers attendit. The summary of this two-hour session is presented below.

I saw my Hazrat, Syed Muhammad Abdullah Hajveri RA that he always carried a pen and paper. He used to wake in the middle of night and start writing something. I asked him that what do you write? He said that Allah bestows me with gaibi, ludni and advices; I write that. Sometime, sahaba and prophets come and share their talks of maarfat. Once a prophet came in my dream and told me he method of meditation, how to fulfil the points of aalam-e-laahot, malkot and how to observe Allah’s powers and views of his creation.

Today I’ll share with you an easy and common example of piety. Piety is not about ‘doing’ but piety means ‘not doing’. Incurring kind deed is not piety; staying safe from sin is piety. Be it a major sin or minor; avoiding it is piety. Someone inquired Ibn-e-Abbas RA that there is a man who does plenty of good deeds and few sins. On the other hand is a man who does few kind deeds but incurs no sins. Whom would you prefer? He replied that I prefer that person who performs few good deeds but stays far from sins. This knowledge of piety and chasteness is declared as the knowledge of Allah’s mayet. Now I’ll tell you about the types of piety. Piety is of two types; revealedpiety and hiddenpiety. Piety of hidden is that persons feelings should be honest and behaviour should be sincere i.e. a person should judge each gathering and congregation that why did I go there? What was my intention? Why have I come to my Sheikh? Have I brought the bowl of my heart straight or upside-down? Have I come to my spiritual physician (murshid) as a formality or for material benefits? Judging yourself before every deed is the piety of your heart. The needy and deprived who visits his murshidwith honest desire, he travels through the steps of development and success very quickly.
