Like any other religion, we have heard about a lot of miracles in the History of Islam. Miracle is an extraordinary and welcomed event that is not explicable by nature or scientific laws and is therefore attributed to a divine agency. According to Quran and Hadith, Muslim Ummah is all agreed on the fact that the way Allah, showed miracles through his Prophets (انبیاء علیہم السلام ), in that same way he shows us miracles through his saints of the present era. Not only have the Islamic scholars of Indo-Pak but are also had Muslim Scholars of Saudi Arabia agreed on this fact.
There is a very authentic Hadith of Prophet Muhammad ( ﷺ) which says “Allah says whoever becomes enemy of a saint, I declare war with him and a person who bounds himself by moral obligation of doing what I have asked him to do, he becomes very close to me, and when a person tries to get close to me by offering Nawafil, until I start loving him and when I start loving him I become his ear from which he hears eye become his eyes from which he sees, I become his hands by which he holds, I become his feet by which he walks and whatever he asks me I grant him, if he wants to come into my protection I grant him that”. (Sahih Bukhari, Kitab Al Raqqah)
There are lots of things in our lives that are beyond our Comprehension but somehow, we believe in them. Every set oh Muslims believe in the existence of miracles by saints that are just above our understanding.
Successor’s (رحمتہ اللہ علیہم ) lives are full of miracles.
In this regard, the name of Allama Ibn-e-temia رحمہ اللہ علیہ (661-728) is highly respectable. He has mentioned many incidents of miracles in his book “Alfurqaan Ban Al Aulia Wa Shaitaan”. He also stated this, that there are more incidents of miracles in the lives of successors then that of Sahaba. Pages from 222 to 230 of this book contains the miracles, some of them are given below.
Offered prayer in burning fire
Aswad Ansi, who claimed the false Prophethood, once asked Hazrat Abdullah Bin Saub Abu Muslim Al Kholani رحمہ اللہ علیہ, a famous successor from Yemen. “Do you testify that I am the messenger of Allah?” He replied “I am not even listening to you”. He then asked “Do you testify Mohammadﷺ is a messenger of Allah?” Hazrat Abdullah said “Yes, Muhammad ﷺ is the messenger of Allah”. Aswad got so furious upon hearing this that he threw him in a huge burning fireplace where as people saw him offering prayer whole heartedly, and that fireplace turned into a place of serenity.
Spending for Charity
A very famous successor H. Amir Bin Qaes was in a habit of putting 2000 Dirham in his pocket daily for charity before going out. He used to give everyone who was in need on his way without counting but surprisingly he was always backing with the same amount of money.
Hand in the mouth of a lion
One day he passed by a caravan which was stopped by a lion. He just went close to the lion, held his face, with his piece of cloth, put his foot on his neck and said “you are one of the dog in millions by Allah and I am here to seek forgiveness form Allah to get scared from anything else but Him and the caravan just made his way through easily. He prayed to Allah to make ablution easier for him since then he was always granted with warm water.
Disappearance from the sight of Hujjaj
A very famous successor Hazrat Hassan Basri disappeared from the sight of Hujjaj. People went to see him six times but they couldn’t see him. One of them kept teasing Hassan amd when H. Hassan prayed to Allah the man died immediately.
Azan from the Roza-e-Rasool ﷺ
It was the era of H. Saeed Bin Mussabbab, a very famous successor, when Madinah was made was besieged. He says he could hear Azan from Roza in empty mosque at time of namaz.
Grave the coffin of Hazrat Owais رحمہ اللہ علیہ
When Hazrat Owais Qarni رحمہ اللہ علیہ passed away, people found his coffin in his clothes that he never had with him before and also they found, his already dug and ready grave in rocks so he was given the same coffin and was buried in the same grave.
Red sand turned into red wheat.
A very famous successor Hazrat Ibrahim Taimi رحمہ اللہ علیہ was in habit of living for long enough times (2 months) without eating anything. Once he could not get anything for his family to feed so he tied up some red sand in a piece of cloth when he reached home and his family opened up that piece of cloth, they found wheat grains in it and every time they sowed that wheat, they got crops full of wheat.
Sounds of tasbeeh from dishes
Every time a famous successor, Hazrat Mutraf Bin Abdullah رحمہ اللہ علیہused to enter his home, one could hear the sound of tasbeeh coming out of dishes and crockery of his domestic use. He and his friends could see the light coming out of his lash while walking in the dark.
The donkey was alive.
Donkey which was in possession of a man from tribe Nakha died. His companions said that they would divide his luggage by putting it on other donkeys but the man said, he needs a little time.So that he did the ablution, offered two rakat nawafil and prayed to Allah. Allah made the donkey alive. Then he put all his luggage again on the donkey.one day famous Tabayi Hazrat Umru Bin Utba رحمت اللہ علیہ was offering prayer. There was such a hot day, suddenly the cloud started to overshadow him. When he grazed his companions’ riding animals in Jihad then the dangerous animals also protected other animals. Famous Tabayi Hazrat Abdul Wahid Bin Zaid رحمت اللہ علیہ became paralyzed, he prayed to Allah while doing ablution that may all his body parts get perfect, whenever he did ablution, all his body parts became perfect, and after performing ablution he became paralyzed again. Famous Tabayi Hazrat prayed for three things to Allah, good voice, tears in high quantity, and meal or food without doing anything. When he did recitation of Quran, he wept himself and other people too, the tears continued for a long time from his eyes. And when he went home, all the eatable food was available, he himself didn’t know from where they come?
