Ubqari Magazine - May 2016

An extract from the weekly sermon of peace and spirituality by Shaykh-Ul-Wazaif Hadhrat Hakeem Muhammad Tariq Mahmood Majzoobi Chughtai (Damat Barakatuhum Aliya)

The virtue of deeds:

We were building our water tanks and despite being extremely hot, the masons and laborers were working continuously while I was wondering what was making them work in such unfavorable weather. My thinking led me to the conclusion that actually they have a firm belief to get their wages in the evening and that belief is making them work even in the severe heat of subcontinent summer but if they are told that they will not be paid anything at the end of the day, would they still bother to work? Absolutely not! The wages in the evening make the builders work all day in the sweltering heat. A person strives to earn his wages in extreme heat, rain and storms but he does not care for anything just because he believes that he will be paid off his hard work as we see just the apparent. Similarly if we know the virtue of our deeds that our deeds will lead us to betterment then we will perform it with full devotion and our deeds will have a forceful effect.

The company of Godly people:

A person came to Hadhrat Khawaja Qutb-ud-Din Bakhtiyar Kaki (May Allah’s Mercy be upon him) and said’ Hadhrat! I have a strong love for Surah Al-Ikhlas (112)’ He asked him, ‘The Quran is all worthy to be loved but why Surah Al-Ikhlas only? He said,’ I had listened the virtues of Surah Al-Ikhlas and was so impressed of it.’ He said, ‘The virtues of anything make a person keen about it, though they are about this mortal world or the eternal hereafter.’ These Godly people would reveal the virtues of deeds and they do so now as well. The Quran teaches us to ask for the worldly benefits as well as seek the best in the hereafter as well

so these Godly people would teach the benefits of this world as well as the hereafter.

The Pleasure of Sahaba and Ahl-e-Bayt رضی اللہ عنہم اجمعین):

When we learn the virtues of deeds and the consequential benefits, then that enhances the pleasure of doing them as well. That was the reason that upon receiving the command of obligatory prayers, the Sahaba and Ahle-e-Bayt (May Allah be pleased with them all) were so happy and enthused that they would be able to speak to Allah though this blessed practice. It had become their firm belief that through prayers, they would be able to see their Lord and have a dialogue with Him and just by lying their heads in His Feet would make them converse them with Him and He is listening to them. The companions were overwhelmingly happy about it and were always keen to seek about the deeds that could give them blessings of this worldly life as well as the best in hereafter.

The virtues of Dhikr-e-Khas:

The Dhikr-e-Khas (The special recitation which is done every Thursday after the sermon in which the recitations from Quran and Sunnah are done which have immense benefits and wonders) that we do, leads to the special Mercy and Love of Allah Almighty and results into getting rid of worries, problems and eternal happiness become your destiny. A person asked me to reveal the virtues of deeds as the man is born as greedy and yearn of goodness is in the nature and when we learn about the virtue of deeds then that enhances the vigor and keenness about the deeds.

Seek the virtues of deeds:

O Pious men of Allah! Always seek the virtues of deeds that you do just like the businessmen always yearn to enhance their profits. They invest in the business and then always tend to seek ways to maximise their returns. We should also seek the deeds and their virtues and how they would be beneficial in both the worlds. The lack of our awareness about these virtues may lead to our disinterest about them and then ultimately the deed is abandoned. Therefore, O pious men of Allah! Always seek the benefits and virtues of deeds.

The virtues of Surah Al-Fatiha:

In the special recitation we start with Surah Al-Fatiha. This Surah is so liked by The Allah Almighty as He loves to be praised and to be asked for all of our needs. This surah teaches us a strategy to seek help from Allah and how we will be blessed by the Bounties of Allah. That’s why a pious scholar once said: whatever was revealed in the previous books, all gathered in Quran, and all Quran is summarised in Surah Al-Fatiha, and all Surah Al-Fatiha summarised in Bismillah and all Bismillah in its first letter ‘Ba’. It is mentioned in a Hadith that the Beloved Prophet(Peace be upon him) said: I swear in the name of Him who holds my soul that a surah like this was neither revealed in Injeel, Torah, Zuboor nor even  in the rest of Quran.

The benefits of reciting Surah Al-Fatiha:

The scholars have mentioned that whosoever recites Surah Al-Fatiha worth full faith and belief will get rid of every ailment. The ailment may be spiritual or physical, apparent or hidden, mental or psychological will be cured of all these ailments.

Protection from snakes and scorpions:

The blessed companions (رضی اللہ عنہم اجمعین  )would recite Surah Fatiha on the snake bitten, stung by scorpions, the epileptic and mentally ill patients and the patients were cured with its blessings and this has also been authorised by the Beloved Messenger(Peace be upon him)….Continued….
