Ceasing to serve people and arrival of drought: My Syed and Murshid Hazrat Khwaja Syed Muhammad Abdullah  Majzoob Hajveri (رحمت اللہ علیہ) used to say: “ At some time when you observe that hotels are increasing, eating on streets is becoming common and food is being cooked in Bazars, bear in mind ! drought will certainly arrive to Ummah. May this drought be in form of price hike, may it be in the form of scarcity of food and lack of rain or may it be in the form of a cruel ruler ! But the Ummah will certainly experience drought !” What is the reason for this? The reason for this abandoning hospitality as from the time Ummah has left its hospitality, hotels and restaurants have started flourishing.

In older times, the utensils used to be of large size. Banu Hashim was a very pious tribe famous for its hospitality. During the days of Hajj they would serve the pilgrims in huge utensils. They also used to make a loft over trees to serve food to pilgrims while they were still riding their camels. This used to be the traditional way of Banu Hashim to serve food. Our Lord  was also a Hashmi. Generation of generous ones is also generous. Our Lord  was from the generation of generous ancestors and there can never be any person more generous than our Lord  .

The Holy Prophet  himself is distributing blessings:    The Holy Prophet ﷺ  proceeded to the house of a Sahabi رضی اللہ عنہا . He ﷺ started to break pieces of bread and put them in a large utensil. More bread would be prepared and the Holy Prophet ﷺ kept filling it with pieces of bread. Wife of the Sahabi رضی اللہ عنہا was witnessing from her house that the Holy Prophet ﷺ was sitting outside and a large number of Sahaba رضوان اللہ اجمعین was also assembled there. The Holy Prophet ﷺ would call 10 people at a time. The plates in which the bread was being served, the Holy Prophet ﷺ was pouring curry over it and the Sahaba رضوان اللہ اجمعین were eating this ‘Sareed’.

Eating Sareed is a Sunnah:  Make meat with curry. Put pieces of bread in it and eat it this Sareed as a Sunnah. Pathans call it ‘Sohbat’. I once visited a valley beyond Dera Ismail Khan. I also celebrated Eid there. My hosts awarded me with many honourable titles to introduce me as per their traditions.  One of the hosts told: prepare a special ‘Sohbat’ for this guest. When they prepared and served me this special Sohbat, I could not sleep the entire night. Although it was very cold but remained awake without wearing any quilt. Followers of Allah! eat Sareed as a Sunnah of The Holy Prophet ﷺ . Break bread into pieces and pour curry and meat over it and eat it after mixing them well. It is an amazing thing and also a Sunnah of  the Holy Prophet ﷺ. It contains nutrition and energy for the human body.

Now the Holy Prophet ﷺ  was distributing food amongst the hungry Sahaba e Karam رضوان اللہ اجمعین who had stones tied on their stomachs. He is distributing with his own hands of blessings and the Sahaba رضوان اللہ اجمعین were eating. A group of almost 1000 people consumed a baby goat and 3 kilograms  of barley. But see the blessing that the 3 kilos of barley flour and meat of the goat remained unfinished. Subhan Allah !!

Holiest and most superior water:     Uelmas have debated a lot on the issue as to which is the holiest and most superior water. Some Ulema says that the water of heaven is the one while some insist upon Zam Zam to be the holiest of all waters. Most Ulema declares Zam Zam as the holiest water as with this water, heart of the Holy Prophet ﷺ  was washed four times. And on the last occasion when the Holy Prophet ﷺ  proceeded on Mairaj, the angel properly took out the heart like an open heart surgery and washed it with Zam Zam.

Ghazwa-e-Tabuk – The most difficult Ghazwa:    Some books of adoration with the Holy Prophet ﷺ  contains amazing account. On the occasion of the battle of Tabuk, there was a battalion of 12000 Muslims. Of all the Ghazwaat, the battle of Tabul was the most difficult one. It was to be fought at a distance of hundreds of miles. It was not only high temperatures of the summer season but the poverty of Muslims was also on its peak. Crops of the Sahaba رضوان اللہ اجمعین were ready and ready to be reaped. Therefore when the occasion of Tabuk took place, the Hypocrites (Munafiqeen) presented one or other reason and took permission from the Holy Prophet ﷺ  to stay back in Madinah. They could not go to Tabuk to earn the blessings and saved their lives by deceitfulness. On the other hand, the Sahaba رضوان اللہ اجمعین had their crops ready too. They had to marry their children, pay back their loans, preserved the rations for the next year and after selling their dates, also had to purchase many household items which were awaited for one year…. !
