It is being narrated about Hazrat Abdullah Bin Masood that at the end of Ramadan he used to say,”Glad tidings be to the person whose worships are accepted by Allah and May Allah make good of the loss of the person whose worships are not accepted”.
The mother of Mumineen Hazrat Ayesha Siddiqa رضی اللہ عنہا has narrated that she asked Prophet Muh ammad that, O Prophet of Allah, the saying of Allah the all glorious وَ الَّذِیْنَ یُؤْتُوْنَ مَا اٰتَوْا وَّ قُلُوْبُہُمْ وَجِلَۃٌ اَنَّہُمْ اِلٰی رَبِّہِمْ رٰجِعُوْنَ ﴿ۙمؤمنون۶۰﴾ does this mean the people who drink alcohol, commit adultery and theft? Translation of the verse “ And who have been given and what have been given to them, their hearts became fearful because they believe that they will return to their Sustainer (Allah).” So Nabi Kareem said that, O Daughter of Siddiq, this means the people who observe fasting, do their prayers, give charity and then they fear whether their noble deeds have been accepted or not? These are the people who hastily do charity.
The whole summary of this narration is that Hazrat Ayesha was unable to comprehend the meanings of verse number 60 of Surah Muminoon so she asked Nabi Kareem that she understood the meaning of __ؤْتُوْنَ مَا اٰتَوْا__ as people who have committed sins and after committing sins they become afraid and the scene of the Day of judgment comes before them. Nabi Kareem replied negatively and said that instead this means people who do good deeds and people with pure intentions who are not contended after doing a good deed but they are scared by the thought whether their deeds have been accepted by Allah or not and they do not know whether they will get reward for these tomorrow on the day of judgment, whether there was mixing of things like ill intentions and just to show people how pious the person is which only Allah knows. The truth is that we do one good deed we advertise it so much in the world and we get satisfied that our deed is accepted by Allah so we need not to worry about anything. Our Nabi Kareem said that _ People with purest intentions are also in great danger.
Hazrat Hassan Basri has narrated that the indication of a Momin is that he does good deed with a lot of effort but fears from Allah and the indication of a hypocrite is that he stays contended even after doing a bad deed and does not fear from Allah. It has been narrated about Hazrat Ali _ that when it was the last night of Ramadan-Ul-Mubarak he would say that if I would know about which person’s prayers have been accepted by Allah then I would give him glad tidings and if I would know about which person’s prayers have not been accepted, than I would make condolence to him.
It has been narrated about Hazrat Abdullah bin Masood would say at the end of Ramadan that O people, glad tiding to you whose worships have been accepted and may Allah make good of the loss of the person whose worships are not accepted. It has been narrated about Hazrat Amir bin Qais_SPACE OF ARABIC TEXT_ that he started to weep at the end of Ramadan, people asked why are you weeping? He said that he is not crying on the loss of the world, he is crying on the loss of the opportunity of taking hardship of thirst and standing in the cold night in front of Allah which is taraweeh, fast and other worships of Ramadan and I am sad that they are not anymore. Hazrat Omer bin Abdul Aziz narrated in the sermon of prayer of Eid-ul-Fitr, O people, you fasted for thirty days and for thirty nights you prayed taraweeh and other prayers and today you have come to pray Eid prayers and ask Allah to accept your worships of Ramadan. One Elderly person was sad on Eid day so people asked him why he was sad on the day of happiness? He said that it is true that this is the day of pleasure and happiness but the fact that I am the creation of Allah who has ordered me to fast and do other worships and I don’t know whether my deeds have been accepted or not.
Allama Ibn Rajb says that it was the norm of the pious people that they used to pray for 6 months that O Allah give us the month of Ramadan and for 6 months they would pray to Allah that O Allah accept our fasts and other worships of Ramadan. Abdul Aziz bin Rawaa narrates that he saw numerous Sahaba Karam that whenever they used to do a good deed, after that they would engage in the worry whether their deed has been accepted by Allah or not and then pray to Allah for its acceptance. Bashr Hafi was asked by someone that many of the muslims are seen doing a lot of worships in Ramadan-Ul-Mubarak only and do nothing for the rest of the year? He replied that those people have not recognize Allah as Allah should be recognized, the temporary worships of Ramadan is of no use, the true worship and piety is that a muslim should engage in worships all year round.
Hazrat Shibli was asked by someone that is the month of Shabaan superior or the month of Rajab, he replied that O creation of Allah what is the use of becoming a “Shabaani” or “Rajabi”, become a “Rabbani”. Meaning that we don’t worship and pray only by being mindful about the superiority of the month of the year but we should become a “Rabbani” from head to toe and from life to death so that we may become successful.
O creation of Allah. Have not the sayings of Allah reached you in which Allah says at one place: (Translation) O people come towards the Maghfirat of Allah and towards the Heaven which has the vastness of the earth and the sky. At another place, Allah says (Translation) Run toward the Maghfirat of Allah and towards the heaven that has the vastness of the earth and the sky which is being prepared for the pious people. These verses tell us that Allah does not want its creation to be pious temporarily but Allah wants its creation to be close to him for ever and ever so Allah has commanded that a person should always be obedient to Allah and should love Allah in a way that Allah becomes happy from the person and grants him/her a place in the Heaven.
