People who usually have less appetite and weak stomach can get rid of indigestion and flatulence by eating this less viscid cereal. One would feel light by eating millet as a component of diet.

Of the many important blessings of Almight Allah, food is one. Different cereals make part of our daily diet. A stupendous energy reserve is available in cheap and common cereals. Following are some cereals which are commonly available high energy resource.

Millet: Millet besides providing body with energy cures influenza. As per the research of physicians it burns body fat and strengthens nerves. It is usually called a diet for the poor. Having eaten a chapati of millet, labourers of Rajhastan and of other deserts work for fifteen to sixteen hours without getting exhausted. People who usually have less appetite and weak stomach can get rid of indigestion and flatulence by eating this less viscid cereal. One would feel light by eating millet as a component of diet. For years, herb doctors have been advising that by eating millet mixed with jaggery, brown sugar or other oils strengthens back, purifies blood and maintains digestive system.

Gram: It contains every nutrient required for body growth. Skin (testa) of gram serves as a diuretic. Eating roasted grams alongwith their testa cures perpetual influenza. Due to its dry efficay it also cures phlegm and dispels other waste fluids of stomach and chest. Drinking water in which grams have remained soaked for twenty four hours cures dermatological problems. It is effective in curing itchy skin as well as herpes. Eating well chewed soaked grams increases weight. It purifies blood and expels waste from body.

Animals eating grams produce better milk and meat. Little traces of nitrogen, hydrogen and carbon present in grams produce fats in animals which serve as a reservoir for energy. In European, Western and Asian countries it is regarded as an alternative of meat. Unripe gram, also known as Aola is equally liked by children and elders which is also a rich source of vitamin E. Vitamin E is essential for functioning of vital organs. This vitamin is required for growth of children. Vitamin E is found in fresh wheat, almond, pistachio, gram, pea and in green testa of other fruit. Vitamin B present in gram improves cardio-functioning and is equally bneficial for brain, liver, teeth, bones, pulmonary and gastric nerves. Vitamin B is abunduntly found in testa and seeds of all fresh cereals. Eating grams without removing testa stops stone formation in kidneys.

Corn: It is also known as kilo and maka. It is commonly available in winter season in Pakistan. Unripe cob is roasted which, being rich in taste, satiates. Eating roasted corn without lemon, salt and red chilli takes more time in digestion and may produce useless enzymes in stomach. Corn flour’s chapati strengthens brain and purifies blood. Rubbing its flour mixed in water on cheeks cures pimples and freckles and when applied on hands, it does away with dryness and bad odour. Its flour is not beneficial for all organs of body. Eating chapati of corn-flour mixed with wheat-flour kneaded in milk, oil and brown sugar has many benefits. Pop corns are made by frying corn seeds in oil and are savoured. Corn is cereal which is widely consumed in winter.
