Can Prophets and the Truthful Envy You Too

Ubqari Magazine - December 2013

Hazrat Maaz (RA) says that I heard Hazrat Muhammad (may Allah’s peace be upon him) that the people who love each other in order to seek the pleasure of Allah Almighty shall be under the shadow of His throne; the day on which there would be no shadow apart from the shadow of His throne. The prophets and martyrs would envy them for their special position and designation. (Ibn-e-Hayaan) Hazrat Abaada bin Saamit (RA) quotes this saying of Hazrat Muhammad (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) with reference to a hadith-e-qudsi: My love is mandatory for those people who love each other due to me. My love is mandatory for those people who are well-wishers of each other due to me. And my love is mandatory for those people who spend on each other due to me. They will be on the pulpits of light. Due to their special position prophets and truthful people will envy them. (Ibn-e-Hayaan) Hazrat Numan bin Bashir (RA) quotes that Hazrat Muhammad (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: The example of Muslims is to leave each other, to have mercy on each other, and to have love and mercy for each other. In love and gratitude their example is that of the human body, when one part of the body aches, then due to this pain, other parts of the body also become victims of fever and sleeplessness. (Muslim). It is quoted by hazrat Anas (RA) that Hazrat Muhammad (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: The person who comes to meet his (Muslim) brother for the pleasure of Allah Almighty, an angel addresses him from the sky, that you shall live a prosperous life, let the heaven be your abode. And Allah Almighty says to the angels of His throne: My slave met his brother for me. I am responsible for his hospitality. And that is that Allah Almighty does not give him anything less than the heaven. (Bazaar, Abu Yaala, Targheeb)
