Fruits and vegetables are a priceless gift of nature which we not only use as a diet but they are also effective weapons against diseases. Those fruits and vegetables which are used against deadly diseases as successful cure include tomatoes as well. According to scientists those people who use tomatoes are less likely to confront the dangers of deadly diseases. Tomatoes contain lycopene which is an effective anti-oxidant which not only give fresh red color to tomato but also helps in removing extra radicals from the body. These radicals can cause unstable oxygen molecules, cancer and other deadly diseases. Lycopene in its original form is an excellent anti-oxidant which prevents cholesterol accumulation in blood. On the other hand, bacteria is produced in blood veins which cause them to contract, shrink and hardened them which in turn can cause heart attack. It has been known through research that if the original lycopene is combined with cancer cells, then it can stop these bacteria to grow further. Lycopene is an extremely powerful anti-oxidant.
